Long Jump 

 

     Competitors take a running start, then jump at a designated point. Distance is measured from the jumping point to the closest point where the competitor's body touches the ground. For example, if the competitor jumps,then falls back and catches themselves with their hands, the distance would be measured to the point their hands touched, NOT their feet.


Broad Jump

     Also known as the "Standing Long Jump", competitors stand at a designated point and jump forward as far as they can. Distance is measured from the starting point to the closest point where the competitor's body touches the ground.


High Jump

    Competitors take a running start, then jump, attempting to clear a bar set progressively higher.


Cycle Race

     Competitors will mount giant tricycles and attempt to beat other competitors around a pre-determined track.


50-Yard Dash

      Competitors attempt to beat one another to the finish in this 50-yard foot race.


Discus Throw

      Competitors throw a Frisbee discus-style for distance.


Javelin Throw

     Competitors will attempt to hurl a weighted pool noodle (foam tube) as far as they can.


Shot-put

     In this variation of the classic game, competitors will attempt to throw a softball shot-put-style for distance.


Sumo-suit Wrestling    

    Competitors will put on Sumo-suits and attempt to pin their opponent in an inflatable boxing-style ring.


Mini-marathon

     Competitors will run a miniature version of the classic endurance race. Distance will vary by age group.
